DAY 1: Gocek, embarkation

After arrival, boat provisioning and check-in, the Welcome Party will follow, kicking off at 19:30h at the restaurant JOY in D-Marine. It is always so much fun catching up with old friends and meeting new ones! Our very first HPYF was held in Gocek back in 2008 and this area has remained very special to us all.

DAY 2: GOCEK – GEMILER ISLAND

This is an incredible little island, full of historical remains. There are the remains of four Byzantine churches and several other buildings built between 300 and 500 AD. Archaeologists believe it was the location of the original tomb of Saint Nicholas, hence its alternative name being St Nicholas Island.

We always raft up in this area and spend an evening together and will do so again, on our first night out (weather permitting). One of our favourite things about this place is waking up in the morning and jumping off the boat into the clearest sea and swimming and snorkelling amongst the old remains. The sunsets from this island are incredibly beautiful, too!

DAY 3: GEMILER ISLAND – ZEYTIN, TOMB BAY

We will moor up at the Zeytin Restaurant. There are tombs cut into the hillside overlooking the bay (hence the name). You can take a walk up the hill to see the tombs closer. It’s very likely that you’ll encounter local goats on the way.

We’ll dine at the Zeytin (Olive) Restaurant. It also has showers, and for a small charge can provide water and electricity, though only in the evenings.

DAY 4: TOMB BAY – FETHIYE

We will stay in Fethiye Marina overnight giving you the chance to explore this lovely city, do some shopping for Christmas and find the ingredients missing for your Gourmet dinner recipe.

DAY 5: FETHIYE – BOYNUZ BUKU

We will berth on the restaurant pontoons at Boynuz Bükü at N 36° 42.696’, E 28° 53.711’. As we are not dining there, we will be charged €50 per boat or €30 if we have breakfast there.

This is our venue for Gourmet night, where each boat makes their favourite dish for dinner and share it with all participants. One boat will win the Gourmet prize for best dish or combination of dishes. This is also your chance to make music and dance and ensure Gourmet night is the high point of High Point week!

DAY 7: AMIGO BAY – GOCEK

Race time limit will be 16:00H to give everyone time to get glammed up for the prize-giving, that will be in Gocek, at the NEN Restaurant.

Highlights

For 15 years High Point YachtFests have been devoted to sailing, socialising and enjoying local food and cultures. Turkey remains one of the favourite HPYF destinations. Expect fantastic landscape, great sailing, new and old friends and a lot of fun.

Town of Gocek is a great place to spend some time in. It is a bustling town with little shops and cafes, the Turkish Baths, and great restaurants. Whether you want to eat a simple but delicious kebab at the Kebab Hospital or have the most glamorous dinner at the Q Lounge, the strong positive energy of the place is present everywhere.

The coast is magnificent, with masses of Greek, Roman and Lycian ruins and clear waters. What awaits for you there is as excellent hospitality and fantastic food!

Our gourmet, Roux night, is always the highlight of the event, no matter where we are! Expect delicious meals at this cookery competition where the bar is not too high.
