How it works?
Since 2008, the High Point Yacht Fests regatta has been devoted to sailing, socializing and enjoying local food and culture. September regatta takes place on the Meditternanean and the March regatta is in the Caribbean.
This regatta is ideal for sailors and crews who want to get regatta experience with friendship and fun at their core.
Boat will be your home for the week. Itinerary and daily races are organized by us, your hosts. The week will start with a Welcome Party, our reunion of old friends and an introduction of the new ones.
A day typically starts with a skipper’s briefing for some and coffee / breakfast and a morning swim for the others. We will have at least one race a day before arriving to our overnight destination.
As ever, we will fit in as much swimming, snorkelling, sundowners, socialising and dining ashore as we can.
A high point of the week will be our traditional Gourmet night on Thursday when everyone can rate each crew’s best dish (there’s a prize) and sing, dance and make music (live, if there’s enough talent).
Who can join the regatta
- A complete team can charter a boat through High Point Yachting (or elsewhere with a different entry fee).
- Individuals, couples, smaller groups can apply and we will help with finding the right crew for them (we often have skippers looking for the crew).
- The event is also open to the boat owners who can enter using their own boats. An entry fee would apply. (In the Caribbean, we race with catamarans.)

Important information
Have a question about HPYF that isn’t on our FAQ list below? Email Sasha at sasha@highpointyachting.com; or WhatsApp Sasha if more convenient, on the UK Mobile number +44 7961 451505. You’ll get a reply quickly.
Age
HPYF operates a strict age policy: all guests must be at least 20 years of age. If you do not meet this age requirement, you will not be accepted onto any of HPYF events.
Air-conditioning
Air conditioning is only available on boats that have generators. The cooling ability is not as powerful as A/C found on land and we recommend not using it full time as that may increase the chance of malfunction.
Payment and obligations towards charter company
When chartering a boat with us, our obligations with the charter companies begin 24 hours after your initial booking. As a result, should you decide to cancel your booking within the first 24 hours we can refund any payments made by you. Unfortunately, should you cancel your booking after 24 hours, any sum paid cannot be refunded and standard cancellation terms will apply – please keep this in mind when making a booking (i.e. ensure that your whole crew is able/willing to pay).
Planning Your Booking
- Who is going?
Are you coming by yourself or there are more of you in the team? You might be a skipper or you might have one in your team and you might be a big enough group to have your own boat. Boats typically come with 4-5 cabins. Cabins are for one or two people. We can help you selecting the right boat for your group. You could also use our HPYF Facebook page to find others to join you or other crews to join. - Which HPYF would you like to join?
In March, we sail around the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean. For this event, we use catamarans only. Late September every year, we sail in one of the Mediterranean destinations (Croatia, Sardinia, Turkey, Greece). Events typically start and end on a Saturday, although this might be different in the Caribbean. We do not organise travel or flights but are always happy to help with an advice or suggestions. We can help with or organise your land transfers on arrival to the destination. - Which boat would you like to sail in?
Prices of boats vary between destinations and also depend on type and size of boats. We can help you with choosing the right boat. We have all the information you need, specifications, photos, layout etc. Once you have chosen and booked a boat you will need to sign the contract and make the deposit payment in order for the boat to be fully confirmed for you. If you are a crew member, your skipper will give you all the information needed about the boat and the payment. Only skipper is required to sign the charter contract.
Cancellation
Cancellation terms vary between the destinations and charter companies. You will receive them with your contract. If, at any point, you wish to cancel your booking, the Lead Booker should inform us immediately at sasha@highpointyachting.com . We understand that circumstances change, however, any payment received from you triggers our obligations with the charter companies. As a result, any cancellation by you will incur a cancellation charge plus a 5% administration fee. The charges will depend on the time of cancellation and the destination and are typically as follows (the charges represent a percentage of your total booking cost):
Cancellation within the first 24 hours of booking or reserving: 0%
From 24 hours after booking to no later than 30 days from the booking date: 20%
Thereafter, until 91 days prior to the event date (check your booking to see the exact date): 50%
Within 90 days, or less, prior to the event date (check your booking to see the exact date): 100%.
NOTE: If your payment plan is different to that in the payments section of this page, the cancellation charges shall differ to those detailed above and shall reflect your payment terms.
